Jayne Cobb

(played by Adam Baldwin)

Jayne is the hired mercenary who uses his muscles, feelings, and cleverness to make decisions rather than educated rational. He does not have the moral strengths of the other characters, and so has more interest in violence, women, and his guns. His loyalty sometimes comes into question, especially when he attempted to sell the Tams for their reward money. Jayne is self-interested, especially when a profit is to be made (“Firefly”)
