The text of "Bloodchild" is available online through the Washington Post and Google Books.

Wikipedia is, I think, a wonderful place to start finding information and my favorite free encyclopedia has a decent page on Octavia Butler and pages dedicated to her other fiction, though one specifically about "Bloodchild" does not exist. Bear in mind, you should always take Wikipedia with a grain of salt - check your facts, don't cite this as a source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octavia_Butler.

Nicholas Whyte offers a comprehensive overview of many different critical interpretations of "Bloodchild," though his comments are brief and many of his links dead: http://www.nicholaswhyte.info/sf/bch.htm.

Elyce Rae Helford of Middle Tennessee State University wrote a long essay on "Bloodchild" that I don't agree with but is very thorough and well thought out and is certainly educational: "Would You Really Rather Die than Bear My Young?": The Construction of Gender, Race, and Species in Octavia E. Butler's "Bloodchild".

eNotes has a summary and study guide about "Bloodchild" as well as other information about Octavia Butler: http://www.enotes.com/bloodchild.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology discusses Butler and "Bloodchild" in the context of her Xenogenesis or Lilith's Brood novels: http://web.mit.edu/m-i-t/science_fiction/profiles/butler.html.
