France, the oldest and largest country in Europe, has a population of over 58 million people.  The primary language in France is French, whose origins are rooted in Latin.  The capital city is Paris which is located in the Northern section of the country (click here for map).   France is bordered to the north by the English Channel, bordered to the south by the Mediterranean Sea and Spain, bordered on the east by Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, and bordered to the west by the Atlantic Ocean.
