Barbara Paré and John Clodfelter have been working together
as a singer/pianist team for five years. In July 2003 they attended
a symposium of Ninteenth century German song at Westminster Choir
college of Rider University in Princeton, New Jersey. the symposium
was built around master classes on the works of Schubert, Schumann
and Wolf. Paré and Clodfelter participated in daily master
classes with renowned pianist and vocal coach J.J. Penna and mezzo-soprano
Lindsay Christiansen. In July 2004 they returned to Princeton to
study and perform the works of Wolf, Berg, Mahler, Strauss and
Szymanowski.
Pare´and Clodfelter have been described as having "a
very special connection and chemistry" when performing together.Their
dedication to the art song, particularly German lieder is the center
of their recitals.
