Announcements:

The lab exam will be this week, Tuesday, Nov. 19.

Assignments:

1) Review of original observations: Due Wed. 20 Nov. in class:

We have completed our study of stars and stellar evolution and have started  to expand our studies to the galaxy and beyond. This is a good point to pause and reflect on what we have accomplished thus far. In the first week of class we made a class summary list of your observations and a list of your questions. I will hand out a copy of the class summary  list. Review the list of questions (the class summary and your own individual list) and look at them in the context of what you have learned this semester.  Write a brief (2 or 3 paragraph) summary of how what you have learned answers some of the questions on the list. Also, discuss and summarize the questions we have not yet answered. Now, look at your observations. Write a summary of how these observations fit into the context of the course. Finally, make a list of any new questions you have. (3 point grade)

2) Star Story assignment: Due Tuesday, 26 Nov. at noon in my office.

3) Current Events assignment  Due Friday Dec. 6 in class.
