The initial edition of Analytical Chemistry 2.0 was created by importing existing Word files into Adobe InDesign, which was used to format the textbook's layout, and carefully editing each chapter. The illustrations in this edition are entirely new and in color. Original artwork was created using a combination of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Flash, and R
. Some illustrations use or modify open-source images and artwork from Wikimedia Commons or from government sites; where appropriate, sources are identified in the figure captions. Equations were typeset using Design Science's MathType Equation Editor. The text includes extensive hyperlinking to facilitate navigation; see the textbook's preface for additional details.
