Announcements:

LAB THIS WEEK: The week we will have our lab exam. If you want, you may schedule to take the lab exam from noon - 2:00 on Tuesday (it shouldn't take nearly that long).

Assignments:

Review of original observations: Due Monday Nov. 19 in class: (This is a graded assignment)

We have completed our study of stars and stellar evolution and have started  to expand our studies to the galaxy and beyond. This is a good point to pause and reflect on what we have accomplished thus far. In the first week of class we made a class summary list of your observations and a list of your questions.  Review the list of questions (the class summary and your own individual list) and look at them in the context of what you have learned this semester. (The class generated list is here.) Write a brief (2 or 3 paragraph) summary of how what you have learned answers some of the questions on the list. Also, discuss and summarize the questions we have not yet answered. Now, look at your observations. Write a summary of how these observations fit into the context of the course. Finally, make a list of any new questions you have.
