Announcements:

1) The first day of class we will meet in room 229 Julian

2) On Wednesday I will hand out a short ungraded problem assignment, and I am trying to set up a session with a Q tutor for either Wednesday or Thursday evening to go over these problems. I'll talk about this in class on Wednesday.

3) Please note the "Study Questions" link on the left side bar. This will have questions for each week.

Assignments:

1) Due Friday, Feb. 1 in class: Review of Planet Web Sites. Visit three of the internet sites listed under "Planets" on the class links page. Browse around and see what each site had to offer. Write a 1/2 to 1 page review of each site. What kinds of information does it have? What is the level of detail? What kind of images or graphics does it have? How might this site be useful in other assignments about the planets? Rate the site in terms of its overall usefulness. Consider: 1) the quality of the information an 2) the quantity of the information. Give each site a "star rating", with 5 stars begin the best. Remember to use these site in later assignments!
